Mirrors don’t lie. They reflect exactly what you give them, and I’ve always been careful about that. I stand in the middle of my room, barefoot on the cold floor, surrounded by my own reflection. One mirror by the closet. One leaning against the wall. One mounted above the dresser. I like to see myself from every angle. It helps me remember what people see when they look at me. What they want to see. ‘Control,’ I mutter inwardly. My cheer uniform hangs neatly from the wardrobe door, freshly pressed, untouched. Shoes aligned beneath it.
