I stepped out of the cell, my chest still tight with the weight of everything that had just happened. Eva’s face lingered in my mind, her terror, her desperation to stay behind to figure out who was behind all this madness. I didn’t want to leave her, but I knew I had to deal with this first.
As I put my father's body on a chair, my heart felt heavy. Despite our strained relationship, I would never want this for him. Not even for my enemy. So whoever was doing this, was mostly deranged in their head. And it obviously was Marcus.
I saw Marcus bark some orders to tighten the security near Eva's cell. He knew I was there but he was abusing his power. He smirked at me, before leaving. I clenched my fists, trying to control my anger. If I wanted Eva out, nothing could stop me. Onl
