I followed Adam and the Alpha King into the chamber, a secluded room in the pack office, where only the most important and confidential matters were discussed.
Honestly, I couldn’t hide my surprise when I was asked to join them. Normally, I would be left outside, waiting like an outsider, only called upon when they needed me for some ceremonial facade. Or they wanted some information, or they had to intimidate the result of their discussion. If the alpha king, my father, could avoid me completely. He would. But he couldn't because I was still a part of his family, and he loved to show that we were one big happy family.
But today was different. And I was curious to know why.
