ISLA “I am ravenous,” I say as I pull open the door to Rick’s diner. Rick’s is nothing fancy by any means, but it is a great little local diner that an older pack member, Rick, and his wife have run for a long time. Personally, I think it’s the best place in the pack for burgers, fries, and milkshakes. It has easily become my favorite place here in Clear Creek. Luckily, the diner isn’t too packed since it’s after two in the afternoon. I glance around as we walk in, and I see an elderly couple over by the window sharing a slice of pie while sipping coffee, and there is a small group of teenagers at the counter having ice cream and mucking around with each other.
