My anxiety was eating me alive. I couldn't decipher why she had come to the pack on her own.
I paced the length of my chambers, fingers raking through my hair until my scalp burned. Did she discover I was the one after her?
She hadn’t accused me directly—no, that would’ve been too easy. Instead, she’d looked at me with those unsettling golden eyes and spoken of the whole family hunting her.
Maybe it was better if we did things this way. If grandmother discovered that I had my own agenda, she would certainly beat me. She might even tell the guards to lock me up until she is content, and of course, she will strip me of my title.
