I recognize it from a few encounters I’ve had before. Almost as if his voice isn’t merely coming from where he’s standing behind me, but rather surrounding me, like an inescapable presence.
He’s using Alpha Voice.
Except unlike my previous experiences with others using Alpha Voice, his words don’t have the same compelling force. I understand why immediately.
No one can resist Alpha Voice. Except for a mate.
But if King Alexander doesn’t recognize that I’m his mate yet, and I certainly don’t want him to if I’m ever getting back to my parents, then I have to pretend that his Alpha Voice is working on me.
