I know I will have to contact von Heffner. Something inside me tells me he is not as bad as everyone makes him out to be but is delusional in his obsession with Carol. Perhaps he will forget about the war if I can talk some sense into him. I need to get a way to contact von Heffner and speak to him as an old friend. Perhaps if he sees Dean and Carol are happy and she will never accept him as a lover, he will forget about the war. It is a long shot, as von Heffner was always weird. He did not like to lose and always wanted to be the fastest, strongest, and cleverest of all of us. His behavior, I think, was because he was trying to be the perfect man.
