"It's time, " I say to Caelan. He isn't looking at me, and I am immediately scared that he's blocking me out again.
"Don't push me away, Caelan, not now. You promised to try and be better. Don't stop now. I need you more than ever now."
He grabs my neck and pulls me close; I don't have time to react before he smashes his lips to mine. I wrap my hands around his neck as he deepens the kiss between us. My head is spinning when he finally lets go of me.
"I'm scared that something happens to you today. If I had a say in this, I wouldn't have you on that battlefield with us." He says with a sigh. "I don't want you there. I want to know that you are safe."
I gently cup his cheek and lean into him, "nothing will happen to me; you won't let it. Everything will be fine."
