"Please," I pressed when she remained quiet. "I need to know the truth and you're the only person that can help me. Without you, I don't know what other direction to turn to." We were interrupted by the sound of footsteps a little distance away. The past five years I'd gotten used to those footsteps, would even get excited to hear them since I knew who they belonged too.
