"What are you doing Alina?" he demanded, his expression still one of shock. My hands tightened on the axe. "Tell them to let him go." His jaw clenched and his eyes narrowed at my request. I'd never seen him look this angry before, that alone should scare me but I wasn't about to back down. "Why?" He inquired suspiciously. "Who is he to you?" "Please let him go Lukas, I don't want to hurt you." I pressed, ignoring his question. I could sense his barely suppressed rage at my words. I didn't know what I was doing, I just knew that I had to save Caelan. That was all that mattered to me, even if it meant ending my friendship with Lukas in order to do so.
