Kohina, lips pressed tightly, quickly said, “We had ordered paans for the guests. That’s why it was there.”
Rivaan Kapoor narrowed his eyes at her, sharp and calculating. “Jaggu,” he asked coldly, “since when did women in this house start eating kewam in paan? And if someone who’s been fasting eats that by mistake, they’re bound to vomit, aren’t they?”
Kohina flinched. “I didn’t know Vanya would ”
“You don’t need to explain,” Rivaan cut her off icily. “No one asked you to.”
Then he turned to Jaggu, “Cancel all my appointments for the day. Except the one interview. That’s still on.” Without waiting for a response, he strode off, leaving silence and stares behind him.
Kohina muttered under her breath, “Vanya keeps making mistakes, and we have to justify everything for her.”
