SELENE’S POV If there was one thing I dreaded in this place, it was meal time. I hated having to sit with those wolves who only pretended to like me when Dante was around. They all hated and gossiped about me but acted kinder whenever he was present. Tonight was no different. What made it worse was the unresolved tension between us not just our unspoken feelings, but the almost-kiss that still hung in the air. I knew he would try to avoid me and I’d have been shocked if he even came to dinner. Yet he surprised me and showed up but acted exactly as I expected. Dinner was quiet, awkward.
