HUNTER'S POV I paced the lobby, nerves prickling under my skin as I waited for her to come down. The anticipation was unbearable—I ended up sending Julia to fetch her just so I wouldn’t climb the walls. I knew she’d be beautiful. I just didn’t expect her to take my breath away the way she did. As she descended the stairs, the sunlight streaming through the glass window lit up behind her, making her white dress sparkle. She looked like an angel, radiating grace and divinity. I couldn’t take my eyes off her. I was so entranced that my words came out all wrong. When she asked if she’d kept me waiting, all I managed to say was, “Yes.” But what I really wanted to say was, “All my life.” I must’ve made her think I was upset—her heartbeat quickened, and I could hear the shift in her breath.
