**Hockey Gala Night**
I adjusted my bow tie one more time before ringing Kendall's doorbell. The tuxedo felt weird but I had to admit I looked pretty good.
She opened the door and I nearly forgot how to breathe. Her black dress was simple but elegant, and she'd done something different with her hair that made her look even more beautiful than usual.
"Wow," I said. "You look incredible."
"Thanks," she said, smiling. "You clean up pretty well yourself."
She grabbed her purse and we headed to my car. The drive to the hotel was about twenty minutes, and I was getting more nervous by the minute.
"You okay?" Kendall asked, noticing my grip on the steering wheel.
"Yeah, just nervous I guess. I've never been to anything like this before."
