(Jaxon) When I got home, Mom was sitting on the couch with a book in her hand, and Dad was watching the news. Alex was sprawled on the rug with his Nintendo, looking way too focused on whatever game he was playing. “Hey,” I said, dropping my bag by the door. Alex looked up first. His whole face lit up like a Christmas tree. “Jaxon! Did you score today?” I laughed and shook my head. “Not today, buddy. It was all drills.” He groaned. “Drills are boring.
