I hear her voice, but it feels so much like a dream that at first, I don’t even lift my head until I hear Andre.
Andre “Pearl, Pearl darling, open your eyes for me, please.”
A single tear drops from my left eye, onto her hand.
Pearl “Oh, Magnus, stop crying!”
I hear her voice again and lift my head to see my darling bride looking at me. I can’t move fast enough to take her perfect little face in my hands and place a soft kiss on her lips, tears running freely. I don’t care what she says.
Magnus “I thought I’d lost you! Please don’t ever do that to me again!”
She smiles at me, holding my arms tightly.
Pearl “I’ll try… I’m mortal now you know, I can’t make any promises.”
I put my forehead against hers and sigh.
Magnus “That’s not funny!”
