Lucille “You are kidding right now, aren’t you?”
Andre smacks Magnus upside the head.
Andre “What did you do with it?!”
Magnus looks completely panicked.
Magnus “Wait! Wait, I know what happened. I left it on my dresser with her wedding band… Stay, I’ll be right back!!”
He turns around like lightning, shifts mid-jump, and disappears. All around me are whispers about what an i***t he is. Lucille wanting to know if I’m okay and Andre keeps apologizing, saying he should have checked the box before they left. All I can suddenly think about is the empty box. Nothing else… just an empty box… what was supposed to have been in there?
Would it have been pretty? Did he go and buy it especially for me if he took out some wedding band? Who is this her he was referring
