I watched from the bench as my mate swam with Silas and Chase. Xander had warriors with the dragon; she should be safe for a few minutes.
"You should be in there with her," Duke snapped as I watched her smile with someone else.
"So, what happened?" Xander asked, stepping beside me. I noticed he had changed his clothes.
"A body fell from the sky and destroyed my truck. About ten minutes later, it exploded."
"And you thought it was best to transport her by vehicle after that?" Kaden scoffed.
"What the hell is your problem?" I pushed past Xander.
"My problem is that you can't protect her."
"And you can? This happened on land, Fish Boy. What the hell were you going to do?" I retorted.
"I have the means to keep her safe. You don't."
I took a step, but Xander grabbed my arm
