Nora left the pack directly after Jace. He’d seen her walk down the stairs with her suitcase and frowned at her, held his hand up to her and then put in a call to her former Alpha right there, told him that Nora was on her way to his pack and would be leaving shortly. And asked if he could watch for her arrival, as he couldn’t go with her, and if she wasn’t there within 5 hours, to send out a search party and call him directly.
She didn’t even know why he bothered, but he must have gotten an affirmative because he then thanked her former Alpha, before hanging up. Then he looked at her and stated, “Alpha Clayton is expecting you.” and she realized he was just keeping tabs on her. She’d just nodded, she had nothing to hide, she wasn’t the bad guy in their f****d-up mate bond.
