Chapter 24
Caden’s POV
Dinner was ready to go by the time Cassidy and I arrived. We were the last ones to get there. A game was on in the living room, and Craig and Colton were sitting in the living room talking to Conner and Brooks. I haven’t seen them in a while, but they were like extended family to us. Brooks was Dad's best friend.
Cassidy stayed in the kitchen with Mom and Nana Hazel while I greeted the men in the living room. This wasn't the only time that we got together. Colton and Craig both came over as much as they could. Craig lived in Chattanooga, but Colton, although he lived here, stayed busy. He was the Sheriff here, and if anything came up, he could be called out on short notice.
