Caden’s POV
I was surprised by how quickly Caleb noticed her mood change. He didn’t hesitate to comfort her, and I was sure that he was correct about her being sad. He was correct; my parents and grandparents would love her child, too. My parents were very good friends with Christy and Byron. I still don’t understand why, but it was clear that Caleb was very attached to her.
“Caleb’s right, Parker, we will be happy to help you with the baby. I know we can’t take the place of your parents, and I would never even try, but we will love them just as much as we love you,” Della gently assured me.
“I know, and I appreciate you all. Uncle Brooks already told me that he was going to treat the baby as his own grandchild,” Parker gave a tight smile, trying to play as if she was happy
