Cassidy’s POV
I didn’t expect Connor and Brooks to just up and leave like that. I was worried about her baby. Yet they treated me like Public Enemy Number One. That wasn’t the worst. I could feel the anger coming from not just my parents, but my grandparents, too.
She didn’t even try to argue with me. I knew she wanted to; I saw the look on her face. Then I watched her expression change. She didn’t care enough about my comment to clarify anything, and that was embarrassing. I hadn’t meant to say it as I had. It came off less as concern and more bitchy, but as a register nurse, I wanted her to realize that she needed to take care of the baby.
