When I saw the police at my gate, my heart beat, but I'd to calm myself. I wasn't scared-they'd find nothing.
I'm just worried maybe this conduct would frighten Pink and Adrian. I can call to stop the search but it's not necessary.
Four squad cars. Uniformed officers everywhere. It felt like a bad dream but I tried to be calm. I fixed my clothes and moved out of the car, then moved up to the lead officer.
"Good afternoon," I said, bringing out my hand. "I'm Darcy Rodrigo. This is my home. What's happening?"
