Beth After I put Charlie to bed, and then gave Lucy her bath, I snuck back down to my work shop to try and do some more work on Sophia’s wedding dress. It was purely a coincidence that it also put me as far away from Rafe and his assistant as I could possibly get without actually leaving the house. I cranked up the space heater to the highest setting and turned on the extra bright light over the sewing machine as I worked on the lining of the bodice. I worked until my eyes felt strained and the ends of my fingers were starting to go numb. The design was more complicated than most dresses I was used to making, and the fabric was extremely delicate. Even the slightest mistake would show.
