I had only wanted to apologize to Martha when I saw her seated alone. I wanted to plead with her to give me a second chance, even though not as her boyfriend, but at least as a family friend so we could put our issues behind us. But Jasper stepped out of his office like he already perceived my presence.
When I looked over at Jasper's face, I caught his eyes glowing golden, and that made me tremble, but I was already getting closer to Martha.
"Martha," I tried to talk to her, to forgive Elena and me, but her boss warned me to stay back.
