CHAPTER 1

MARTHA The rain started falling heavily as I finished my shift as a waitress at Silver’s Restaurant, a high-end, two-story building in Sun City. It was 7 p.m. on Friday evening, so I grabbed my black handbag and rushed out of the restaurant to the roadside. I hailed a taxi, climbed into the back seat, and gave the driver my father’s address. He started the car and sped off. When we arrived home, I paid the middle-aged driver and rushed out of the cab. I dashed through the huge black gate of my father’s enormous white mansion as the rain drenched me. When I reached the front door, I rang the doorbell, and my stepmother, Sandra Roger, pulled it open. Sandra wore a light-blue nightdress and a pair of black slippers. She frowned as she watched me enter the living room and shut the door behind me. Thunder rumbled loudly in the clouds as I saw that the clock showed 8 p.m. I greeted Sandra. “Good evening, Mom.” “Martha, why are you home so late?” Sandra asked as she glared at me. Looking at her frowning face, I asked, “What sort of question is that? This is my father’s house, and I can return home whenever I like.” “Oh, sure,” Sandra replied with a smirk, before moving back to sit on the black couch in the exquisite living room. I knew she disliked me and had only pretended to love my father. After she married him, she treated me poorly until he died two years ago. I had to live with Sandra because my father’s will stated that he had given the whole house to me, while Sandra and her daughter, Elena, had stolen the company. Ignoring my stepmother, I rushed upstairs to my room to change out of my wet blue dress. However, as I neared the door, intense groaning and moaning froze me in place. “Ah, Mark! f**k!” I heard Elena moan as the man rode her to ecstasy. My fists clenched as Elena moaned like a lunatic. Couldn’t she take her boyfriend to a hotel? Why was she bringing him here to our father’s house? Couldn’t she show a little respect for our late father? I wanted to ignore Elena because I was four years older than her. I was twenty-four years old, and she was twenty. However, I heard Elena cry again. “f**k me, Mark!” I froze. Who was Mark? Was he my fiancé, Mark Elliott? I wanted to ignore them, thinking there were many men named Mark. There was no fücking way Mark Elliott could be the man with my shameless sister. However, I heard Elena ask, “Mark, do you enjoy having s*x with Martha as much as you enjoy it with me?” “f**k it, Elena. Martha has a dry pússy, and I don’t enjoy anything. She is too skinny and lacks the plump breasts and soft ass you have.” “What?” My fists clenched as I spun around to face Elena’s bedroom door. I listened to their conversation. “Aww, I’m glad that I'm different. What about your engagement to Martha? Aren’t you going to call it off? You cannot marry her instead of me,” Elena purred as Mark drove her. The sound of his moans echoed through the corridor as her pússy made squelching sounds. “Don’t worry. I am only marrying Martha to take over your father’s company. Do not forget that your mother stated that your father left everything in Martha’s name. If she had not deceived Martha into thinking that your father left only the house to her, everything would have belonged to Martha.” “What?” I gasped, blood draining from my face as I heard their discussion. I couldn’t pull the door open to confront them. The door was slightly open, so I spun around to leave the house, only to see my stepmother standing in the corridor with a large pestle in her hands. “Martha, your time is up, and you cannot take everything away from my daughter and me.” Sandra raised the pestle to smash it against me, but I dodged her attack and pushed her to the ground. “Ah!” Sandra gasped as she landed on her buttocks. After hearing that Sandra had changed my father’s will to suit her preferences, I jumped on her and smacked her repeatedly in the face. “Martha, how dare you?” Sandra shrieked as Elena’s bedroom door flew open. Elena and Mark shamelessly darted out of her room naked. They looked stunned when they saw Sandra on the ground after I had smacked her ten times for changing my father’s will. Who knew whether Sandra had a hand in my father’s mysterious death two years ago? “Martha, how dare you lay your filthy hands on my mother?” Elena growled at me, but I glared at her in disgust. “You shameless slut. You’re riding my fiancé, and you think you will be better than me or get my inheritance? Only in your dreams.” I spun around and left the house, knowing that I could not stay there with them. Before I left the corridor, Mark called out to me, “Martha, you cannot leave this city. Know that our marriage has already been scheduled, and whether you like it or not, you must marry me!” “Only in your dreams. I will never marry an asshole and a cheap dog like you!” I cursed at Mark before leaving the corridor. Tears flooded down my cheeks as I made my way outside the duplex my father owned. The house used to be peaceful until my dad married that evil woman. Clenching my fists, I hurried out of the house, leaving everything behind. I would return for them, so I made my way to the road to get a cab. The rain poured heavily on me as I found a taxi. “To Dennis Hotel,” I said. It was getting late, and I had nowhere to go. My relatives had lost interest in me after my mother’s death. They blamed me for her death because they believed I should have died in her place instead of her having me as her baby. She died during childbirth. Wiping the sobs from my cheeks, I looked out of the window. The money I had could barely sustain me. When the taxi arrived at the hotel, I got out, paid the driver, and made my way inside. Dennis Hotel was a popular brothel in town, and I wanted to spend the night there to cheat on Mark and forget the mean words he had said about me. When I entered the hotel lobby, the two receptionists peered at me and frowned. “Hey, miss. What are you doing here, all soaked?” one of them asked. I drew a deep breath. “I want a night with any available man. How much will I be paid?” “Haha!” The two receptionists laughed at my broken state. “You’re too skinny to attract any clients, so go out and find another hotel or brothel to satisfy your fantasy,” they said dismissively. However, I was determined to show them that I was not someone who gave up easily. If I could not get the money to have my stepmother arrested, I would be the one at a loss. “I am serious, and I am not leaving this brothel. Please.” I stripped off my wet blue dress, which I had worn to work that morning. “Hey! What are you doing?” one of the receptionists growled as she walked out from behind the desk. “Let her go!” A deep voice startled me, and I turned to see who had spoken. A group of five men dressed in black had walked into the hotel lobby. The one who spoke had golden-colored eyes that sent chills down my spine. I had never seen a human with eyes of that color before. “Welcome, sir. We are just trying to make our hotel a conducive environment. What do you want?” the female receptionist in a black skirt and white top asked the formidable man who had walked in to meet us.
