“Then, you… don’t want that anymore…” Shaina stammered nervously, as she tried to put the words across without insinuating anything inappropriate.
“Hmm, what is that I want to do?” Maxwell's brows twitched, confused—but he quickly realized what she meant.
She was indeed worried that he would eat her up!
“Alright. No more teasing. Come here.”
As his voice became stern, Shaina’s shoulders reflexively shuddered. She was obviously very unwilling to go near him. But still, she did not dare defy his order. She reluctantly inched toward him. When she was close enough, she easily caught a whiff of that light fragrance on him. It smells good, and surprisingly it calms her nerves and let her relax a little.
Maxwell raised his hand and caressed her hair. It was damp but felt warm to the touch.
