“Tito Gio, you’re back! Where did you come from?”
“We’re hungry!”
The kids bombarded Giuseppe with questions and complaints. They were both standing with arms crossed on their chests, mouths pouted, and eyes darted at him with glares.
“Okay, sorry! I went to buy this at the shop from across the playground,” Giuseppe answered, lifting the bag he was holding while the other hand pointed to the shop across the playground.
“What is that?” The girl asked curiously, trying to peep at what was inside the bag.
“Hmm, before I answer you, little girl, let’s go out first. I thought you guys were hungry?” Giuseppe said, ruffling the girl’s hair gently.
“That’s right, Tito Gio. We’re hungry but will Grandma come with us?” The boy asked as they were putting their shoes on.
