Samantha's eyes widened looking at Kendrick as Alberto released her and faced his son. She was surprised and what Kendrick had said seemed to echo in her mind.
“My woman!”
She doesn't understand but her heart flutters the way Kendrick says it. It sounds possessive but her heart beats faster when she hears it.
“Are you okay?” Samantha was startled when Kendrick took her hands laid them onto his shoulders held her on her waist and pulled closer to him as they started dancing to the tune of mellow music from the saxophonist. She looked at Kendrick and their eyes met and locked to each other unaware that other couples who were dancing slowly went back to their tables.
