The next day, Kendrick paid Samantha a visit to Margarita's house. Though he was still unsure about the current state of their relationship due to recent events in their lives, he was concerned about her. She remained his wife as long as the validity of their marriage remained active.
"She was still sleeping in her room," Margarita said when she opened the door and saw him outside.
"Good morning, Ma," Kendrick said as he bowed his head to greet Margarita. Because of her expressionless face towards him, he was aware that Margarita was already aware of the problem between him and Samantha. She wasn't like before, when she was always happy to see them when they came to see her.
“You can go to her room. She might already wake up by now,” Margarita said when she gave way for him to get in.
