For the rest of the day, Emily avoided Jason like the plague. She resigned herself to the parts of the house where she was certain that she wouldn't run into him. She was content in the silence, and she knew that it would hurt him to know that she was doing her own thing without him. She busied herself in the drawing room, having informed Matilda to fetch her the best and longest romance novel she could find in Brighton House. The girl had returned with three different books as big as encyclopedias, and Emily had dived head first into them. She knew that sooner or later Jason would seek her out, but she would not make it easy for him. If he wanted to give her attitude, then she would return the favor in equal measures. After three hours of complete silence, she became bored however.
