I have lost count of how many hours we’ve been driving but I tried my best to memorize the road and can’t help but think of how complicated even that was. It was strange. The farther we went, the more desolate our surroundings became. There were unfamiliar looking men in the front seat and behind. And me? I was sandwiched in between them, not exchanging a single word until we got to wherever our destination was. We arrived in a small village. Looking at the surroundings, I was sure this was off the map. Now real fear filled my chest because if this area was off the map, it meant my plan wouldn’t work as I had thought in my head. “W—where are we?” I finally spoke to the men beside me and like I half expected, they didn’t give me a reply.
