Immediately when we arrive at the packhouse, Marco calls for an emergency meeting with the full pack.
We all stand outside in front of the stage area with the little sunlight that is left peeking through the trees. We all wait for Marco and Christian to make an appearance.
I see Mason’s worried face looking around.
“What’s wrong?”
He looks at me. “I’m just concerned. What if they attack the pack because of me? There are so many children here, I don’t want anyone to get hurt.”
I get close and put a hand on his chest. “They won’t attack the pack. That’s suicide for them since they are humans. That is why as long as you are here, you’ll be safe.”
