Ellie wraps an arm around Annette’s shoulders leading her back toward the four corners house with Mom and the other ladies. I watch her go both proud of her and fairly positive she’s upset with me for not telling her I’ve been talking straight to her wolf for two days. She’s been worried all day long since talking to Lesedi. Knowing I will need to add to that by revealing what Raphael admitted to doesn’t help me.
“Ellie talk to me. Are you doing ok after all that?”
“No. I’ll talk to you later.” Damn she is upset with me.
“Ellie don’t shut down on me. I’m sorry.”
“I need a little time to myself to think. I will talk to you later. Not shutting you out.” Her voice is heavy and I know it’s everything.
“Alright. I have some work to finish. See you after that.”
