I think about Tempest’s words all morning as I get ready. Josephine and I have our normal reading lesson and then Lydia, Harper and Josephine inform me we’re going into town for lunch today. The real reason being they want to take me for a pedicure at the nail salon since I have a date tonight. “I don’t think I need a pedicure for that.” I protest but they insist. “Ellie, we only want you to enjoy yourself a little. Besides I want to hear all about your other date.” Harper says. We go and get pedicures together and then find a steakhouse for lunch. They listen to me talk about our first date and Harper bounces as she claps a few times. “He did so good. I knew he’d go all out for you.”
Lydia “I am so glad Ellie. You deserve all the happy dates after what you went through.”
