Lady Emily came visiting Marine in her house. She was guided to Marine’s chamber, unlike the rest who were not allowed to meet Marine on the pretence that she was ill.
“You really are pretty, I’m amazed my son has such good taste,” Lady Emily flattered her after their formal introduction was over.
“I’m sorry, Gloria couldn’t make it. Apparently, she fell ill too. But she has promised to be there to welcome you when we take you back with us. Trust me, I’ve already made an arrangement so you can feel at home,” She assured her.
“Thank you, Lady Emily, you shouldn’t have gone through all that trouble though. I’m touched by your kind gesture,” Marine gave her a warm smile.
