Later that day, when Lina got home late, per usual, she noticed that Philip wasn’t waiting for her like he usually did in the living room. She quirked an eyebrow in confusion because it was out of the ordinary for him.
“Puppy?!” Lina called out. There was no answer. Lina quirked her eyebrow again. “Philip!” Lina called his name. But still, no answer. “What the f*ck?” Lina questioned, growing increasingly annoyed. She put her stuff down and made her way to the bedroom, but before she got halfway up the stairs, her cell started to ring. “Now what?” Lina grunted and went back down. She got her phone out of her bag, and she was surprised to see that it was a private number calling. Lina usually didn’t answer private calls, but something told her she needed to. “Hello?”
