Chapter 7
Lina was in her office reviewing case files and preparing for an upcoming court case. She was knee-deep in paperwork when her door flew open, and a furious Philip burst into her office. Lina snapped her head up when she heard the door slam against the wall.
“Ma’am, I’m so sorry, he rushed past security and—” Shelly tried to explain, but Lina held up her hand and signaled for her to leave. Shelly nodded, backed away, and closed the door behind her. As soon as it clicked shut, Philip slammed his hands on her desk, making everything fly off and scattering across the floor. Lina looked at the scattered files and documents that she had painstakingly organized for the last few hours and glared at Philip.
