“All lights have been extinguished,” Kjell said. The wind had been with us since we started on our journey to Tara, and we’d made exceptionally good time across the water. Thankfully, the night was dark. The moon was barely visible through thick cloud cover and there was no reflection off the water, an ideal atmosphere for an attack. I raised the spyglass, trying to see if I was able to spot Tara from where we were. At first, I saw nothing but inky blackness.
