As Cameron and I paced back into the palace, our steps echoed through the grand corridors, each footfall a reminder of the weight we now carried as future kings and as mates to Lyla. Her image, smiling and radiant with our marks freshly imprinted on her, filled my mind, both a comfort and a concern in these tumultuous times.
