Approximately forty-five minutes after leaving the hospital, the limousine pulled up to the grand entrance of The Pierre Hotel in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. A valet opened the rear door, offering Serenity a hand as she stepped out into the crisp evening air. The nurse followed immediately, heading to the back where Titus had already retrieved the wheelchair. Working in tandem, they assisted Calloway out of the vehicle and into the seat with practiced ease.
“I have to say, that’s the smoothest transition to a chair I’ve ever had,” Calloway said with a smile, settling himself into the cushion.
