EMILY
William drives in silence as I listen to the cool instrumental music from the car stereo.
I occasionally steal glances at him and it's clear he's in deep thought.
I decide not to interfere with whatever he's thinking about but I only wish that it doesn't distract him from the road.
He's driving too fast and his reverie is broken when he nearly collides with another car as he tries to overtake.
“Sorry,” he apologises. “that was close!” he says.
My attention is suddenly drawn to him, wondering what is making him to be that distracted.
“What are you thinking about Willy?” I decide to stir the nest.
“Never mind. Just an issue that refuses to go away.” he replies.
“Do you wish to talk about it?" I know I'm pushing it but I can't just keep quiet when he's that distracted.
