"I don't know," Vex admitted. "But I've served Alpha Darius long enough to recognize when he's playing a deeper game." She studied me carefully. "And you're central to it."
"Why tell me this?" I asked. "Your loyalty is to your Alpha."
"I respect strength," Vex said simply. "You took me down fairly in that ring."
