To my surprise, it was easier to convince Maddie to meet up than I would have imagined. You would think that after you’d spilled one big secret to a girl, you’d try to avoid seeing her in the near future so as to avoid telling her the rest of the story. After all, when Maddie realized that night what she had done in calling me Asher’s mate, she couldn’t seem to get me out of that car and into the pack house fast enough. It was like she was hoping I might all together just forget she had said it and move on with the conversation. Or maybe she was hoping I’d forget it was her that said it, and attach the confession to someone else’s name after she introduced me to so many people.
