“Why? Because it’s a safety issue? Or because you have some freaking mate bond thing over me?” Talia shouted loud enough for the entire cafe around us to hear, but none of that mattered, because the words themselves felt as if they had shattered my ears. I stared back at her in shock, unable to move, and definitely unable to respond. For the most part, I thought I had been making good ground in this argument, and it was finally beginning to seem as if she was going to concede and come back to the house with me. Whether or not she would have been willing to talk this out though, would have been a conversation for a different day. Only now, things seemed about ten times worse than they had been when she left in the first place.
