Talia’s Point of View
“Something has happened?” My mother repeated Asher’s words back to him like an echo. Any irritation or excitement had quickly dropped from her face, and I watched in astonishment as the same seemed to happen for my brothers. Asher hadn’t even said a word yet about that nights events, and it was as if they had already understood him perfectly.
Trevor paused in the inhalation of his breakfast, carefully setting down his fork gently so as not to make any sudden sounds. What the hell is going on? I wanted to scream into the room, suddenly feeling like everyone around me was in on a big secret that I didn’t understand yet.
“What’s going on?” Trevor asked, his hands folding politely on the tabletop as he took on the seriousness of the moment.
