I didn’t bother trying to keep my irritation out of my voice, because at this point, I had had more than enough of her. She was making me angrier and angrier with every minute that passed, because not only was she insulting my decisions, but she was literally insulting the existence of my children—and the latter of the two was the one that angered me the most. She didn’t even know them, hadn’t even been trusted enough to hold them, and she had the nerve to speak badly about them.
