I reached for the cell phone that was ringing on my beside table, keeping my eyes closed in an attempt to keep myself from waking up completely, because I knew that it would make it impossibly difficult for me to go to sleep again. What time was it, even? Who would possibly be calling me at this time of the night?       “Alpha Marcel speaking.”  I hadn’t looked at the caller ID before I had answered, but I was immediately able to recognise the voice, as I was sure my voice would have been recognisable to her if she hadn’t been the one calling me.       “We’ve had this discussion before, Marcel, and I don’t really want to waste any time having it again, but I feel like I’m obligated to ask you when you’re coming back.”  I let out a literal groan, flopping back into the position that I h
