I turn my head towards the garden where I thought someone was watching me. Shai, too, is suddenly alert, searching for anyone lurking. I hear a russle, and before I can run to the garden, Shai bolts and shifts mid-air into a tall, white serval cat with golden patches. I come to an abrupt stop, falling on my ass. " s**t, what happened to Shai?" I mutter breathlessly. The Serval cat returns a few minutes later as I collect my breath. It's biting down on a squirrel's neck.
