Ella’s POV The car pulled to a stop in front of the familiar gates. My stomach twisted the moment I saw the house. The place looked the same, but I did not feel the same. I had left here broken, and now I was coming back with questions I did not even want answered. I opened the door slowly, stepping out into the dim light that barely reached the driveway. The night air was heavy, and I could not stop the way my heart pounded. My legs felt stiff as though they wanted to keep me still, but I forced them forward. It's been a while since I stepped on these floors, It's been a while since I have seen their faces, and now I am going to face them all over again. But everything about this felt wrong. I stood there for a moment, staring at the door. I was waiting for something. . .anything. . .
